Leaving a dream

"Leaving a dream" poetry by Roshan James, Wellesley, Ontario, Canada

Text:

They were eyeing me
Mistrustful
As I nervously stuttered
Who I was
Who I was looking for
It wasn’t them
And we all knew it
As my words became shared questions
Unspoken connections
I was thinking as I started rising
Realizing
What it feels like to pull
Out of a dream
