Rescue

"Rescue" poetry by Roshan James, Wellesley, Ontario, Canada

Text:

I pinched my nose

Jumping into nothing’s deafening tide

Terrifying in its darkening tourquoise

To black depths spiralling

And then you appeared, bow through fog

Like a ghost-ship smokey grey and its strip-tattered sails

You gloriously real people

Who pulled me in, hauled me on board

So we became friends on that dark night of the soul

When you rescued me
