Walk beside me

"Walk beside me" - poetry by Roshan James, Wellesley, Ontario, Canada

Text:

Walk beside me when night turns to day

And see what I see when the sun breaks the sky

Come along and find the source

Of these new sounds filling our ears

Discover anew what our hands learned in dreams

And our hearts wouldn’t let us forget

Don’t worry when we part for a moment at the end of the street

The echoes of your voice and wry smiles will reflect

In morning’s appreciation of daylight

Scenting the slow-warming air

Until we return

Along the unfurling of day

To sing the sun to sleep
